There are several opportunities listed below to apply for scholarships and tuition discount programs to help offset your tuition at Tennessee State University.  You can start by visiting the Scholarship Page on the TSU website.

1) Scholar Tuition Rate

If you are an entering freshmen student and have earned a minimum unweighted grade point average of 3.00 or better and scored a minimum 21 ACT/980SAT you will receive the Scholar Tuition Rate. Please see below.

The Scholar Tuition Rate reduces the amount of Out-of-State tuition the student pays per semester. The rate is available to all categories of out-of-state student (i.e. first time freshmen, transfer students, returning students, etc).

  • First‐time freshmen must have a 21 ACT (or 980 SAT verbal and math) and a high school un‐weighted cumulative 3.0 GPA.
  • Transfer students must have a minimum of 15 credit hours earned and a cumulative 3.0 GPA.
  • Returning student must have minimum 15 credit hours earned and a cumulative 3.0 GPA.

To take advantage of the rate, the student must register for a minimum of 15 hours for the term in which the discounted rate is offered. To maintain their eligibility, student must successfully pass the 15 hours while achieving a term and overall 3.0 GPA.
